Americans giving more to charities

'Atlas of Giving' forecasts $360 billion in gifts for 2012

Good news and economic news don’t always come out together, but the new Atlas of Giving has some. Just this past January, Americans donated $28.55 billion to various charities -- 6.4 percent higher than the previous January.
